Part 1: Goal-setting and Manifesting

Let’s get ready for 2021! But first, let’s reflect.

This year has been a LOT. And this applies no matter whether you had more positive or negative experiences in 2020. Everyone has had different take-aways from this year and yet, at the same time, similar experiences that have brought us closer together despite our distance. There have been tough moments, full of anxiety, frustration and uncertainty. However, we have also seen so much positivity, growth, reflection and good spirit.

Many people are looking forward to 2021, hoping that it signals endings of the negative and the start of new, good things. But…there are also tons of memes about how we’re still processing 2020 and also about the meaninglessness of calendars and the concept of time. We know from personal experiences with lockdowns and quarantine periods that time seems to stretch, but to also pass with the blink of an eye without realizing where the time has gone.

Personally, once December started, I was ready for 2021. I’m so so grateful for 2020 to be honest. I’ve had so many achievements and growth and there’s so much I should appreciate. Whether this is a human thing, or just my personality — I was over December even though it just started.

I decided to take a breath and reflect on this year and also what I want out of December (prompted both by my therapist and Amber Rae). If you’d like to do the same, start by filling out the December check-in below from Amber:

I would recommend then, taking some time to reflect on the year. What are the ups and downs you went through? What did you accomplish? When did you feel the happiest? What were some of your low points? What/Who pulled you through? Are you being fair to yourself considering what a roller-coaster ride this year has been for the whole world (and is still continuing)?

This was Part 1 of the short series. Stay tuned for the next part which will focus on goal-setting for 2021 and the last part will take you through creating a vision board for yourself.

There’s so much out of our control, but some things are totally within our power. We should still keep thriving and trying to be better versions of ourselves every day. I’m trying to remind myself that it’s not all about productivity, but also about enjoying life more, having better, healthier relationships and about loving myself.

“I’m the one I should love”. Thank you #BTS for getting me through the year. Borahae.
